Grambling Middle School inducted their 2008-2009 Junior Beta Club candidates on Wednesday, Oct. 22. The induction was held at 10 a.m. in the Grambling High School Gym.

A "Harvest" was prepared for this fall event by the faculty and administrators. Candidates were challenged by each letter in the word "Harvest" (Honesty, Achievement, Respect, Vision, Enthusiasm, Sincerity, and Tolerance).

City hosts rowing marathon

Natchitoches hosted the 19th annual Marathon Rowing Championship - the only continuous 26.2-mile marathon on a lake in the country - Saturday at the meandering Cane River Lake.

"The water here is ideal for an event like this, and it's one of the main contributors of recruiting schools to come," director of marathon programming Jason Stelly said.

Grambling Middle School has three sets of twins. Two are identical and the other set fraternal.

Brad Lamon Young and Chad Lamonte Young were born on Oct. 17. Brad is the older of the two siblings and they reside in Arcadia.

Teachers and students have no difficulty identifying these two brothers.
